Elspeth Messenger
SEP, psychotherapist
She gained work experience with students at the University of Edinburgh, with companies and businesses in Sweden, and in state health education programs in Nigeria. She initially trained as a psychotherapist, then as an individual and group counselor/psychotherapist supervisor. Through personal experience, she learned that trauma requires specialized support. Currently, she works in private practice in Edinburgh and online.
In her work, she integrates SE® with Neuroaffective Touch and Kathy Kain's Touch Training to support clients with developmental and other traumas. Both methods have deepened the healing potential that enriches her personal experiences and professional practice.
"II love assisting in SE® trainings and it's a great joy for me that I've been able to do this in many countries around the world so far."
She is a Level 1 senior assistant, which means she can conduct case discussions at all training levels and co-facilitate small group case discussions.
"It's a pleasure for me to work with students - to support you in learning, development, and meanwhile get to know some exceptional people. I love seeing people 'get their hearts back,' meaning they find greater freedom in their lives without fear and shame, live more calmly and are better able to enjoy their own lives, make new life-supporting decisions, and become playful again."
